Purchasing Specialist (Building Material)

Topsider Building Systems, Inc. (Winston-Salem, NC area), designers and building component fabricators of a high-end timber frame building system has an immediate opening for an experienced building materials buyer. Topsider is a manufacturer, not a builder or construction firm.
| Responsibilities: |
- Purchasing materials and interface with vendors on pricing, specifications, etc.
- New vendors and product research.
- Coordination of logistics for receiving all purchased materials for manufacturing, stock or reshipment to clients.
- Monitoring and maintaining stock item inventory levels.
- Coordinating purchased items specifications with technical and manufacturing staffs.
- Daily handling of purchase orders, shipping and receiving paperwork flow, including resolution of associated invoicing quantity and/or quality issues.

| Experience: |
- Minimum five (5) years of professional purchasing experience with a building materials company, lumber yard, production-oriented construction company, building prefabrication, or job shop-based manufacturing setting.
- PAST EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING MATERIALS PURCHASING IS A REQUIREMENT. (Purchased items include: lumber, plywood, OSB, laminated beams and timbers, siding, structural steel, fasteners, windows, doors, decking, flooring, cabinets & countertops, etc.)
- Degree or equivalent experience
- High level of proficiency in Excel
- Solid organizational skills

| Compensation: |
$60k to start – based on knowledge and experience. |
