Purchasing Specialist (Building Material)

Topsider Building Systems, Inc. (Winston-Salem, NC area), designers and building component fabricators of a high-end timber frame building system has an immediate opening for an experienced building materials buyer. Topsider is a manufacturer, not a builder or construction firm.

Responsibilities:	Purchasing materials and interface with vendors on pricing, specifications, etc. New vendors and product research. Coordination of logistics for receiving all purchased materials for manufacturing, stock or reshipment to clients. Monitoring and maintaining stock item inventory levels. Coordinating purchased items specifications with technical and manufacturing staffs. Daily handling of purchase orders, shipping and receiving paperwork flow, including resolution of associated invoicing quantity and/or quality issues.
Experience:	Minimum five (5) years of professional purchasing experience with a building materials company, lumber yard, production-oriented construction company, building prefabrication, or job shop-based manufacturing setting. PAST EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING MATERIALS PURCHASING IS A REQUIREMENT. (Purchased items include: lumber, plywood, OSB, laminated beams and timbers, siding, structural steel, fasteners, windows, doors, decking, flooring, cabinets & countertops, etc.) Degree or equivalent experience High level of proficiency in Excel Solid organizational skills
Compensation:	$60k to start – based on knowledge and experience.
